The reality is that even in the most structured organizations, multi-step approval processes are messy, slowing down deals and wasting your sales team’s valuable time.

It’s a stressful experience for your reps who have to seek approvals from the right people and likely wait days or weeks to hear back. You also have your approvers digging through emails and Slack channels trying to find the approvals that need their attention. All these bottlenecks create inefficient processes, making it impossible for your reps to close deals fast.

Introducing Momentum Approvals

Here at Momentum, we’re all about making the lives of sales a little bit easier. That’s why we’re excited to officially announce Momentum Approvals with integrations to Salesforce quotes and Salesforce CPQ. Momentum Approvals streamlines all your approval processes by reaching the correct approvers directly in Slack while bringing data across your tech stack into the context of your approval processes.

Momentum is fully customizable to fit your internal processes, so you can set up Momentum Approvals to automate your approval process as you see fit using our no-code builder. Whether it’s simple discount approvals, requesting contract exceptions, or building processes for your most complicated deal desk motions with dynamic approvers, Momentum Approvals breaks down the complexity, so your team can boost productivity and improve efficiency.

Pull in context from other tools to your approvals process

Momentum integrates with your full tech stack, including Salesforce, Zendesk, Gainsight, Clari, and more, so you can pull in relevant context from the other sales tools in your stack. You can cut back on all of the back-and-forth discussion about why your sales team is asking for a significant discount or longer payment terms by including the customer’s product usage, support tickets, deal information, and payment history along with the request.

Run complex approvals on Slack with a full sync back to Salesforce

With Momentum Approvals, your team can request, discuss, accept, and deny discounts, contract extensions, payment terms, and more directly from where they’re already spending most of the time working, Slack. To request an approval, your team just clicks the “Deal Assist” button, chooses the drop-down for their request, and fills in the information your team needs to review the request.

Then you can either have the approval request send a DM to approvers or create a Slack channel for the approval request to discuss it in greater detail first. Either way, all of the conversation and the approval or denial reasons are synced back to Salesforce, so there is an auditable history. You can also set up complex processes with a series of approvers, parallel approvers, and/or dynamic approvers based on the request type and size.

Everything is much faster, easier, and more collaborative than handling requests via email or directly within Salesforce. Plus, now you don’t have to worry about losing the history since Momentum automatically saves it in Salesforce for you.

Increase visibility into your approvals

Our web app gives admins insights into all approvals, so you always know what’s happening and who you’re waiting on. While the Momentum app homepage app lets both admins and the rest of the sales team see their approvals directly in Slack.

With Momentum Approvals, you can even give non-Salesforce users visibility into approvals. They can see approval activity in any Deal Rooms or Account Rooms they’ve been invited to or automatically invited to approval-specific Slack channels based on triggers.

Kick-off automations in your other tools based on approval status

With Momentum, you can also set up automations based on the approval status to cut out additional manual work for your team. For instance, you can automatically send a contract to the customer via DocuSign or create a ticket in Jira if the request is approved. You can also send automated reminders about a pending approval after a specific time period, so you don’t have to track who still needs to review manually. You can even kick off an automated process if the approval is denied, like updating the opportunity status in Salesforce or creating a task in Asana or Trello.

Integrate Momentum with Salesforce CPQ

Momentum fully integrates with your sales tech stack including Salesforce and Salesforce CPQ. That means you can use Momentum Approvals with a simple approvals process using the quote object in Salesforce or if you’re running a more complex process using Salesforce CPQ with dynamic approvers and multiple steps.

We’re planning to add support for more CPQ software in the future, so make sure you reach out to let us know if there’s one you’d like our team to add to our ever-expanding list of integrations.

Treasure Data automates their approval motions with Momentum

Treasure Data uses Momentum to automate their deal desk workflows and document their approvals in Salesforce. They were looking for a centralized solution to collaborate around deal requests, capture critical activities in Salesforce, and manage approval processes using automation. With Momentum, they can create repeatable motions that improve visibility and collaboration while shortening sales cycles and increasing sales team productivity.

"In my 15+ years in SalesOps and Deal Desk, auditable non-standard deal approval documentation has been an unaddressed challenge. Momentum has a simple and elegant solution for this. I can get executive approval via Slack and archive it directly into Salesforce. Absolutely brilliant!" - Mark Moore, Sr. Director of Global Deal Desk at Treasure Data
